OPAL CHAPTER OES – SEPTEMBER 2023

OPAL CHAPTER, OESAfter a brief interlude the Opal Chapter #181 performance will continue in September with dinner at 6:30 pm and our Meeting at 7:30 pm.   Mark your calendar for the 28th of October and plan to come Trick or Treating at our Annual Halloween Party at the Front Porch Winery. OPAL CHAPTER – AUGUST 2023

Opal ChapterOpal chapter is looking forward to the annual picnic at the Cortland Conservation Club August 10th at 5:00 pm.  Diana Martin has planned entertainment and prizes.  Dues notices have been mailed and dues cards from the Dorothy Hahn fund for 50+ members are also in the mail.  Enjoy the rest of the summer and looking forward to Chapter on September 8th.

OPAL CHAPTER #181Opal Chapter #181 finished the fiscal year by electing a full cast of 2024 Officers.  Our Worthy Matron will be Heather Wingfield and Worthy Patron Jack Ranck.  We were delighted with the Initiation of Candidates Janet King and Hannah Norton and welcomed them into Opal Chapter.  Diana Martin, using the theme of Beach Party, has lined up an enjoyable afternoon for our ANNUAL OPAL PICNIC at the Cortland

OPAL CHAPTER – JUNE 2023

Opal ChapterAfter 2 meetings in June, we’ll be taking our July and August break.  On the 13th we will have our annual business meeting electing 2024 OFFICERS and giving our Audit, Budget, and Trustee reports.  On the 27th we plan to initiate 2 candidates, one of whom is 18 years old. We are still enjoying supper before our meeting and would love to have you join us for the meal

OPAL CHAPTER – MAY 2023

47 Sisters and Brothers assembled April 25th for Opal’s Annual Inspection.  A well-prepared  Deputy Grand Matron, Sherri Gotthardt, provided a pleasant inspection of our books and Initiation.  We welcomed, Brenda Lane as the 343rd member of our Opal Chapter.  Jan and Todd Haycox provided  delicious grilled pork sandwiches and a to die for smoked mac-n cheese with all the trimmings. We are looking forward to Opal’s annual picnic to be held

OPAL CHAPTER #181 – April 2023

Opal Chapter #181Good news abounds for Opal Chapter #181 as our Worthy Matron, Shawn Woods returned after recuperation from a severely broken leg and our initiation of Kathleen Bacorn and Robert Tucker has taken place!  We are looking forward to our April 25th Inspection with Deputy Grand Matron Sherri Gotthardt.  We’d love to have you with us!Star Love,Carla

OPAL CHAPTER, OES – March 2023

Opal Chapter, OES A delightful pizza party proceeded Worthy Matron Shawn Woods’ return from recuperating from an injured left leg and foot. Shawn was delighted to preside during the presentation of two (2) 60-year pins, one to Louise Bacorn and the other to Patty Antoun McNeely.  Both members had joined Hartford Chapter on February 23, 1963.  The pins were presented by their husbands Tom Bacorn and Mac McNeely. OPAL CHAPTER #181 – December 2022

OPAL Chapter #181November 22 our meeting was opened under the gavel of Heather Wingfield because Worthy Matron Shawn Woods had fallen and severely broken her leg.  The meeting with 30 members present was preceded with a delightful dinner provided by Diana Martin and Ruth Tomlinson.  We are looking forward to our Christmas party and meeting on the 13th of December.  Our pot-lunch dinner will be at 6:00 pm with meat
