OPAL CHAPTER #181 – December 2022

OPAL Chapter #181November 22 our meeting was opened under the gavel of Heather Wingfield because Worthy Matron Shawn Woods had fallen and severely broken her leg.  The meeting with 30 members present was preceded with a delightful dinner provided by Diana Martin and Ruth Tomlinson.  We are looking forward to our Christmas party and meeting on the 13th of December.  Our pot-lunch dinner will be at 6:00 pm with meat

Our October 29th INSTALLATION was so well attended it reminded us of the GOOD OLD DAYS.  Shawn Woods and David Hyde were installed to lead our Chapter in the promising 2022-2023 year as Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron.  Purple was the color chosen by the Worthy Matron  for this year. OCTOBER NEWS FROM OPAL 181With the arrival of October our hearts turn to cider, donuts, and Opal Chapter’s annual Halloween party.  We are gathering at the Front Porch Winery, October 22 at 1:00 pm.  Cost per person is $10.00.  Light picnic food will be served.  Games and costume prizes will add to the fun.  Call Diana Martin for reservations. OPAL NEWSTalk about a special evening at our May 24th meeting!  Opal Chapter #181 was honored when Morning Light #80 merged with us making a combination of Opal, Ida McKinley, Alpha, and Hartford.  Morning Light WM Sandee Hyde led a touching ceremony as Officers retired their badges. Our Worthy Matron, Shirley Eckley has chosen KINDNESS as her theme this year.  Following this path every meeting Opal Chapter #181 will be collecting money for 3 different charities which are SERVICE DOGS, KNIGHT TEMPLER EYE FOUNDATION, AND REGENERATIVE MEDICINE.  We are also planning our community annual SPAGHETTI DINNER we do both for fellowship and fundraising.
