Greetings, Sisters and Brothers. I hope all of you are keeping safe during this COVID-19 Pandemic. A recent cartoon circulating on Facebook shows the importance of keeping the Social Distance of 6 feet. We can do it either horizontally or vertically as in 6 feet under. PLEASE be safe. We want to see each other at our next meeting.
Speaking of meetings and activities, we had to cancel our Tea and our Practice in March and our Stated Meeting in April. The Worthy Grand Matron has cancelled all activities until May 8th while the Grand Master has cancelled all Masonic related activities until May 10th. The two-day difference won’t affect us because our next meeting is on May 18th for our INSPECTION. We have an ample opportunity to learn our parts so books shouldn’t be necessary. Besides, we have Prompters. Since we haven’t had nor will have an opportunity to practice, please review and be familiar with the floor work that pertains to your part. We will have a practice virus permitting on Sunday, May 17th at 7:30 pm.
Remember, our June meeting is our Annual Meeting with Election of Officers. Reports from the audit committee, budget committee and the trustee report will also be due.
Again, I want to emphasize being safe. There are many out there who scoff at all the CDC recommended safety procedures, but an old saying is “An ounce of Prevention is worth a pound of Cure.” Our membership is almost 100% in that “Danger Zone” of being over 60 and many of us have other health issues. Keep up on the news as this situation progresses because there’s talk that the self-quarantine recommendations may be extended. God Bless one and all!
In Star Love,
Heather Wingfield
