May is upon us and with the Spring comes a new rebirth.
We have the Grand Master’s Reception coming to town on the 11th at Sorrento’s and the Grand Master’s One Day Class the following Saturday at Painesville.
Brother Gary received his FC Degree at Past Master’s Night and all that attended had a great oyster and fish meal followed by a very good FC Degree. Thanks to the Past Masters for conferring the degree and special thanks to everyone that assisted in the kitchen and the clean up afterwards.
Calls are going out to pull together our Fellowcraft Team for practice and degree work. If you already have a role or want to be involved with the team, contact me for details on practice. We would like to have all of our degree work done before Summer Break as things are going to move fast from here.
Our April Family Dinner was at Vasilios and, as expected, we had wonderful food and service. As I have stated on many occasions, the fellowship is, in my opinion, the most valuable part of these dinners. Learning about Brothers and their Ladies outside of the Lodge helps form new and different bonds. Our next Family Dinner will be May 23rd at The Sunrise Inn at 7:00 pm.
Our 2nd Annual Steak Fry is coming up on June 11th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Ali Babba Grotto. Officers are selling tickets $15.00 apiece and the money needs to be turned in by May 21st. You must have a ticket for this event so, get yours quick!
We are still making plans to make a trip to the Special Olympics Opening in Columbus on June 28th. Keep your ears open for details when they are available.
The 25th District’s Outdoor Raising is the 29th at Cortland Lodge. Breakfast at 8:00 am, Degree at 9:00 am.
The Lodge Picnic will be June 30th from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Ali Babba Grotto. As with years past, we ask that you bring a side dish to pass and a dessert and the lodge will provide the rest.
