Greetings Sisters and Brothers,
Spring has arrived finally with all it’s glory. The birds are chirping, the weather is getting warmer, and the beautiful flowers are blooming. May brings about Mother’s Day and the Worthy Patron and I would like to wish all the Mom’s a very Happy Mother’s Day! We hope you get spoiled by your loved ones because you deserve it! Also in May, is the Safety Services week. Please say a prayer for all the First Responders because they put their lives on the line and protect us every day. Our own Worthy Patron is a Police Officer, so this hits home for us.

May 4,  District 2 AOC meeting at Opal Chapter, group meeting at 10 a.m., AOC meeting at 11 a.m.
May 6,  Morning Light stated meeting at 7:30 p.m., refreshments at 6 p.m.
May 13, Morning Light cooking lunch and delivering it to the First Responders – Warren Police, Warren Fire, and TC911 Dispatch.
May 14, Miriam Chapter Inspection with the Deputy Grand Matron at 7:30 p.m.
May 16, TNT Play “Addams Family” , Appetizers at 6 p.m., Play at 7 p.m.
May 18, WGM Inspection
May 22, Billow Chapter Inspection with WGM Kelly Cholodewitch at 7:30 p.m.

May Facts:
May 4, 1970 – Four students at Kent State University were killed by National Guardsmen who opened fire on a crowd of 1,000 students protesting President Nixon’s decision to invade Cambodia.
May 5th – Celebrated in Mexico as Cinco de Mayo, a national holiday in remembrance of the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
May 15th – National Law Enforcement Memorial Day.
May 20, 1932 – Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic.
May 21, 1881 – The American Red Cross was founded by Clara Barton.
May 30, 1922 – The Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. was dedicated. Memorial Day is celebrated on the 4th Monday in May.
