OPAL CHAPTER’S NOVEMBER NEWS With thoughts that it will soon be time for turkey and all the Thanksgiving goodies,  we take time for our November 13th at 2:00 pm Installation of 2022 Officers.  Our new Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron will be Shirley and Thomas Eckley. A 4:00 pm rehearsal is scheduled  at the Cortland Masonic Lodge Hall for November 7th.  After that we will gather at EAT and PARK

OPAL FOR OCTOBER Opal Chapter #181 is pleased to announce 2 new members:  Ghislaine Martin and Leea Coryea.  Eunice Zimmit and Carla Kahler received their 60-year pins.  We have resumed  having dinner at 6:30 pm before the meeting. SEPTEMBER NEWS A summer rainstorm didn’t put a damper on the enjoyment of our ANNUAL OPAL PICNIC  at the CORTLAND CONSERVATION CLUB on August 12th.  We enjoyed Diana Martin’s provocative guessing games enhanced with her patriotic decorating theme. Seventeen Opal Chapter members enjoyed their traditional pre-meeting dinner this time prepared by Rachel Ann Tupper. We had our Annual Meeting and the election of 2022 officers.  Our new Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron will be Shirley and Tom Eckley.  At our next meeting, June 22nd  we plan to initiate 2 new members and we are looking forward to a pleasant association with them.  2022 dues notices will be mailed

Opal’s news for NovemberCovid-19 once again interrupted our regularly scheduled meetings.  October 22nd we held a makeup meeting to conduct the necessary business with the required 7 Officers in attendance. Opal News-October Opal Chapter has enjoyed 2 meetings this September since having been dark over 4 months due to the pandemic.  The exception when mandatory Annual Reports were given on June 8th.  Masks were worn and social distancing being maintained.  Election of 2021 Officers was held September 22.  All Offices were filled.  Elected were:  Worthy Matron-Shawn Woods, Worthy Patron-David Hyde, Associate Matron-Shirley Eckley, Associate Patron-Clarence McNeely, Conductress-Beckley Whitman, Associate Conductress-Roxanne
