Sunrise Chapter # 458
Sunrise is getting ready for Installation.  Chris Hanna has her hands full getting her plans all in order.  We have a slight change.  The date she planned is the same, but she was asked to adjust the time.  So, her installation will be at 7:30 pm.

I was unable to attend our September meeting so Julie Vargo protemmed as Worthy Matron.  Everyone remarked about what a great job she did.

Sunrise lost yet another longtime member…Commilla (Candy) Rich passed on September 23rd..she was 88.  At the request of her family, Sunrise did an Eastern Star Service.

We have several members who would benefit from your thoughts, prayers & cards. Joe & Mary Tufaro continue about the same.  The last I knew, Joe was at Briarfield, he really hopes to be able to go home.  Mary is with her daughter, Dena & husband.

George McClennan will have surgery on October 17th. Keep him in your prayers.

I, myself, have had a rocky summer.  My myeloma “numbers” began a slump.  After 7 1/2 years my chemo failed me.  I was started on a new set of drugs and had a new Pet scan that showed 4+ lesions.  Between a virus, the new chemo & 10 radiation my white blood cells dropped too low, so chemo was put on hold.  My local oncologist nixed me going to Grand Chapter.  Sigh!  Finally, today, October 9th my white cells improved enough; chemo was restarted.  Not much will keep me down.

Sorry that this was delayed for TrestleBoard, but I think you’ll understand my being down, exhausted and frankly, unusual for me….a bit depressed.
