This article is a little overdue but, for good reason. We would like to announce that Dad Parker has stepped down from his position at Warren DeMolay and has taken the same position with Canfield’s Templar Chapter.
Taking over the role of Chairman of the Advisory Council will be Dad Eugene Miligi. Dad Miligi has been the Chapter Dad since the Chapter received its charter in April 2013 and is a Past Master of Old Erie Lodge #3. He is also active in Mahoning Chapter #10 R.A.M. and Morning Light Chapter #80 OES. Taking over the reins of the Chapter as Chapter Dad will be Dad Gerald Martin. Dad Martin has been an Advisor for Warren DeMolay since 2017 and is currently serving as Senior Warden of Old Erie Lodge and is also active in Mahoning Chapter #10 R.A.M. We would also like to welcome Mom Amy Barnes and Dad Aron Martin to our ranks of Advisors. Mom Barnes is the mother of one of our Past Master Counselors and was active with the Masonic youth groups when she was young. Aron Martin is currently Senior Deacon of Old Erie Lodge #3 and is going through his degrees in Mahoning Chapter #10 R.A.M.
In December, Ohio DeMolay had its annual Winterfest at Kalahari and we were able to take two young men there to receive their degrees. The Chapter also observed its Obligatory Day of Comfort by ringing bells for the Salvation Army with Old Erie Lodge #3. We have been helping with this for the past several years and we all really enjoy giving back to the community in this way.
Warren DeMolay is proud to be hosting the Ohio DeMolay 2nd District’s Preceptor Competition this year. On Sunday, January 12th , the best youth ritualists in Northeast Ohio will be here competing for the right to compete at the State competition on the way to the regional Heartland Ritual Competition. We expect to have a couple of our young men competing and since two of them are past District Champions, I would not be surprised if they return to State again.
Also, in January we will be going to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History on the 19th. We have been looking forward to this trip since MC Caleb announced it in his Term Plan. February 8th we are planning a trip to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The Order of DeMolay is open to young men from 12 to 21 that are of good moral character and all of our events are open to parents, grandparents, Senior DeMolay and Master Masons in good standing.
