Stated Meetings: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays 7:30 pm

As we sit back and get ready to close February and get ready to jump into March, I’d like to take a moment to recap our February events.

We welcomed our friend, Mike, into the Freemason family and hope he finds great pleasure and enjoys his life-changing decision to become a Mason.  As it looks right now, we may be bringing two more friends into our Masonic family before the Grand Master’s One Day Class in May.  By the way, we must have all of the candidate information into the district by May 1st for the May 18th One-Day Class so, if you have a friend that is interested, now is the time to get the process started!

The Officers have been busy practicing and learning our parts for our Inspection on March 12th (in EA).  I have a lot of faith that if you come, you will see very good degree work that is worthy of the Old Erie #3 legacy.  The degree starts at 7:00 pm with a Salisbury Steak dinner at 6:00 pm(dinner cost is $10.00 – please make a reservation with WM Miligi or Secretary WB Allen Briggs).

Our first Family Dinner at Vaslilios Restaurant was held in January and those of us that went enjoyed ourselves and the company. We had a great time learning about our Brothers and their family outside of the Lodge.  I’m not sure if this will get published in time or not but, our second Family Dinner will be at Sunrise Inn on Thursday, February 28th at 7:00 pm.  Our third Family Dinner will be Thursday, March 28th at the Saratoga at 6:00 pm.  Again, these are order off of the menu and pay your own way so, there is no expense incurred by the Lodge.  In addition to learning about our Brothers and their family, these are also wonderful opportunities to bring non-Masons to meet other Masons and perhaps begin their journey into Freemasonry.

In case you haven’t been to our Facebook page recently, I have added a poll to see if there is enough interest in getting together for a Youngstown Phantoms Hockey Game.  Please take a moment to go and vote. If you are not on Facebook, the game that I am looking at is April 13 (Saturday) @ 7:05 pm and that is their last regular-season game.  If ten or more are interested, we can get Group Rate Tickets for $14.00 each.  Let me know if you are interested and able to commit. I will be looking into a Scrappers Game over the Summer, also.  Their Group Rates require at least 20 people and, being Summer, Brethren are harder to contact.  These will, of course, be open to family and friends.

Also, in April will be our annual Past Master’s Night.  It will be April 23rd – and yes, this is a date change from my original plan.  Traditional oyster & fish dinner at 6:00 pm and degree at 7:00 pm.  If you are a Past Master, you may get a phone call asking for your assistance with the degree.  If you do not get such a call or are not a Past Master, please come out and help in the kitchen, these fun events cannot work without Brothers making it happen.  We are expecting a regular candidate to be going through the FC Degree that night so, I am excited about this upcoming event!

Our next Stated Meetings are March 5th and March 19th at 7:30 pm. I am expecting to be voting on a candidate or two on the 5th.  Hope to see you then!
